The Soroptimist Leadership Institute (SLI) is designed to teach leadership concepts to women like YOU.

If you are accepted into the program, you will become a sponsored member of the Victoria Westshore Soroptimist club.

As a member, you’ll benefit from attending meetings and leadership workshops. You’ll also participate in the work of our volunteer committees with the club.

As an SLI intern, you’ll be invited to attend workshops on topics designed to help you become a respected leader within your community, including but not limited to:

  • Aspects of improving your personal strengths

  • Developing leadership and organizational skills, and

  • Understanding your personal goals and passions. 

In return, we expect some commitment on the part of our interns. We want to be able to reap the fruit of our efforts while encouraging new leaders to be a part of our mission to improve the lives of women and girls.

As a member of our club, we expect you to:

  • Attend 3+ leadership development workshops/year

  • Attend and participate in club meetings (in-person or via Zoom); held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month

  • Participate as a committee member for at least one program or event, attend the associated committee meetings, and volunteer at associated event(s)

  • Connect and elevate your leadership with women from across the region and globally

  • Attend 2 Meetings with your club Mentor and 1 meeting with club leadership and to write a brief summary of these
