When people find out about Anney’s Closet, they always want to know what they can do to help. We have found three very specific areas where we could use help . . .
Assisting with Clients
You will join a Soroptimist member and the agency worker to make each visit to Anney’s Closet productive and fun. Tasks include assisting our visitors to choose useful items for their home, wrapping up items and transporting them to vehicles.
Visits occur by appointment currently on weekdays only. We are looking at expanding to weekends and evenings as well – depending on volunteer availability.
Have a truck? We need your help! Our Transport volunteers deliver items for our visitors and also pick up donations.
Organizers help unpack and sort new donations. This suits people who love to create order out of chaos. Organizers help on our donation days which is currently the second and third Saturdays of the month from 9:30am – 11:30am.
The Linen Team help wash, dry and fold sheets and towels that are donated so that our visitors can choose fresh linen for their new home. They also label items for easy sorting at the Closet. This task can be done on your own time, in your own home.
We need a constant supply of “gently used, like-new” household items. Click here to find out what we currently need.
